My complete lack of posts has probably got my two dedicated readers (my mom and gf's mom) worried. Really, the last couple weeks has been pretty interesting, and ironically this is when I blog the least.

First off, we shipped Office 11. In his speech, Bill mentioned stability as one of the big advances for this release which is nice because I worked on this for Outlook. You know that little dialog that comes up when Outlook crashes? When you click "send" it goes to me. And contrary to what conspiracy theorists and typical slashdot readers might tell you, it collects no personal information. I calculated how much time I have saved the world by working on these crashes (given an eventual install base of 100 million users): about 35,000 years / year.

As a result of shipping we got a couple days off which have now been duly spent. I drew a new skratch kat and set up comments for the skratching post, witnessed a fire in South Lake Union, shared a sweet potato with a bee, and ended the weekend with a nice sunset.

The bumblebees in the courtyard have heads the same size as the purple flowers they collect nectar from. I made a photo set out of them, plus various flora and fauna from around Seattle. Check it here.
